Our Umbertide Property 

The town of Umbertide dates back to Etruscan times. It has changed names through millennia, and is now a working, thriving community of 16,000 people.

Surrounded by verdant hills, Umbertide is not a typical Umbrian hill town. Instead because it’s flatland, there is easy access into and out of the town. Walking is easy. Driving and parking is extremely easy.

However, a car isn’t a necessity because all important services, including local government offices, a police station, and a hospital are within walking distance. Within the historic center you will find a pharmacy, food markets, ice cream shops, clothing stores, restaurants, and bars, etc. Plus there is a cinema showing movies in original language, 3 gyms, a huge supermarket that sells international foods, a contemporary art museum, and farmer’s markets in the piazza every Wednesday and Saturday all year long.

A short walking distance away is the train and bus station.

The town has remained authentic because it is not overrun with expats, nor tourists. The majority of residents are Umbertidese, people whose families have lived here for many generations. They are humble and extremely friendly, and willing to help in any way. Daily you are greeted by dozens of locals, which is charming, reassuring and gives one a sense of community and security.

Life in this historic town affords you an authentic Italian experience unlike that of living in the countryside.
